Spalted Beech Bowl wit Raised Bead
I love the look of this spalted beech! When this tree fell in a snowstorm, my friends let me gather the good stuff! I was able to create the right conditions to get the wood to spalt. This is effect caused by fungus that invade the wood, changing the color and depositing dark lines of carbon. When caught early, the strength of the wood is not compromised and the work of the fungus remains. Don’t worry, it’s safe for food contact!
This bowl is great for serving, salads or keep it out and display it as a fruit bowl!
