Sassafras Cooking Spoon

I’ve always liked sassafras wood. Not only is fun to say, but the wood can be really attractive and it’s a pleasure to carve. This is a nice piece with some streaks of color. Over time, this wood will continue to darken to a rich honey color. The flat edge on the end of the spoon is made for a bit of scraping at the bottom of a pan.
