Deep Spalted Birch Salad Bowl
This bowl was turned from some of my favorite spalted birch! The colors and lines are stunning! I specificaly seek out birch and try to control the conditions to promote fungal growth resulting in this pattern. Don’t worry! The fungus isn’t dangerous and is no longer active. The bowl is food safe and ready for use! I harvested the dying tree from just above the workshop.
This bowl is a little deeper and taller. That helps make thepattern easier to see but also makes mixing up salad or digging around in the bowl a bit easier.
